General
Steam Remote Play Together is now available for people who don't have Steam.

The latest Steam beta client allows you to play remotely with anyone by simply sending them a link, no Steam account required. A blog post outlining the latest beta client update includes instructions on how to opt-in to the new program. Those who have already installed the program can view the Steam overlay while playing a Remote Play Together game and get the link from there.

Others can use that link to join the game. If the other person does not have Steam on their computer, they will be offered a download of the Steam Link app. You can only invite one person this way, but you can also use the same link or invite them as usual from your Steam friends list.

If you don't know, Remote Play Together is a Steam feature that allows you to invite others to join you in a local multiplayer or hotseat game without physically being there. It's a godsend for many games, especially hardcore local multiplayer games where it's difficult to get four people together at once, or wargame hotseats where multiplayer services are rudimentary or limited.

We think Remote Play Together is one of Steam's best features. The ability to turn a local multiplayer game into an online multiplayer game is powerful and allows you to play together with friends and grandparents who can barely run Steam on their 15 year old potato PCs.
