And of course, the Skyrim board game will be featured.

Today, in news I thought I would write about years ago, a crowdfunding campaign for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Boardgame is planned. Imagine that! Basically no details are available at this time, but you can sign up on the game's funding page to be notified when new developments are revealed. The game is billed as "an epic cooperative board game of adventure in Skyrim for 1-4 players."

The game will be available in a preview version on Tabletop Simulator before crowdfunding begins. While you may not be familiar with board game terminology, adventure board games typically focus on moving characters from point to point on a map to achieve an objective. Battles and quests like these are usually done by rolling one or two dice, with equipment and money as rewards. Players accumulate points, and whoever has the most points wins. Expect this to be more of an abstraction of Skyrim play as a whole than a fine detail.

This most predictable boardgame adaptation, which will be funded through Gamefound in the near future, is part of an ongoing partnership between Bethesda and board game and RPG publisher Modiphius. Modiphius has previously released a miniatures game called The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms" and "Fallout: Wasteland Warfare," and will be publishing tabletop role-playing games based on "Fallout" and "Dishonored."

We'll keep an eye out and will keep you posted as more information comes in.
