Valve Celebrates Half-Life: To celebrate Alyx's first birthday, they're running a huge 40% off sale: $36 (£28), not a bad price for the best VR game ever made. More than just an excellent VR shooter: Alyx is a great Half-Life game, and despite its prequel format, it moves the story forward significantly. Don't panic, though, because the sale price is only available until March 31.

To coincide with the sale, Valve is also showing off a large selection of their favorite custom pieces added via Steam Workshop, from recurve bows to mini golf courses. Just last week we covered the release of the ambitious Bioshock campaign remade in HL:A, so even if we're another decade away from the next Half-Life, there should at least be a steady drip of great mods. If you're still waiting for VR, you may want to wait anyway. Half Life: Alyx is cheaper and VR headsets are cheaper. Now VR headsets don't have to break the wall or take out a loan.
