Magic: The Gathering's next set is "Strixhaven": it will be released April 15 on Magic Online and MTG Arena. This will be Magic the Gathering's 87th set and looks to offer some interesting experiments in the MTG multiverse.

We got an exclusive look at one of the characters in "Strixhaven", who is a very interesting character in his own right. He is also a member of Lorehold College, a college of archaeology, and the mages who study there are scholars with a passion for history.

According to the press release, "They explore and study the past through relics and invoke magical energies from ancient writings; those who are part of Lorehold will gladly travel great distances to find ancient artifacts. Their goal is to learn the secrets of history, and it is not uncommon for Lorehold students to invoke the spirits of dead historical figures. Their college motto is "Leave No Stone Unturned."

Quint, though, spends most of his time in the Great Book Depository, scouring old books for research. He has "piles of facts and knowledge in his head that might be useful. As a student of Lorehold, his magic usually comes from scrolls and books.

"He places great importance on the accuracy of historical accounts - truth is also a priority for him, as it allows him to preserve facts rather than myths. He is enrolled at Strijshafen University on a scholarship, but supplements the rest of his tuition by working on the excavation site with a team of researchers. Quint hopes to learn about the history and past of the Loxodon people through a great unknown discovery. Quint is dedicated to his studies for himself and his family. While he is a dedicated student, he also has wanderlust and always feels the need and desire to travel and explore. He wants to know who he really is and believes he can do so by exploring historically significant places.
