Launch of "Human Kind" postponed, to be released in August.

"Humankind," a history 4X game developed by Amplitude to directly compete with the Civilization series, has been delayed until August.

The game was originally scheduled for release on Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 22, but was delayed to allow the team to perfect "accessibility, pacing, diplomacy, AI, and more." The postponement was in response to feedback from community OpenDev sessions, which Amplitude has used throughout development to help players perfect the game.

"The last few OpenDev sessions have been a great way for the community to get in touch with the game and hear positive (and constructive!) It was exciting to hear the feedback," wrote Romain de Waubert de Genlis, head of the studio. Releasing Humankind in August will allow us to continue working with the community, refine the game, and have a great first day."

"Humankind" will be released on Steam, Epic Games Store and Google Stadia on August 17.
