Wild Hunt is coming to Netflix's The Witcher Season 2.

Photos from a photo shoot at Devon's Thornton Beach show what appears to be the "Wild Hunt" in a scene from Netflix's "The Witcher Season 2" film adaptation (via Redanian Intelligence.)

Video game players will know that the Wild Hunt is the final enemy and subtitle of The Witcher 3, and readers of the novels will recognize them from Siri's pursuit beginning in the fourth novel, A Time of Contempt. Perhaps their roles in the series will be different, and this could even be a brief cameo, setting them up to be the antagonists later.

Their bony black armor seems appropriate for the creepy cavalry described this way in the book included in The Witcher 3 to avoid spoilers. A wild hunt, they call it. Witnessing a wild hunt, winds, gale force winds, storms and blizzards, and even though the sun was shining, everything was cold. Some claim that riders always come in the winter. But it is not so; the hunt brings ice."

Filming of The Witcher was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and an injury Henry Cavill sustained on the set, but the second season is on track for a late 2021 release. Some of the additional cast members have already been confirmed, including Philippa Eilhardt, Nenneke, and the actor playing Dijkstra.
