Rumors abound about "Battlefield 6," but DICE is thinking spaghetti.

What if I told you that "Battlefield 6" has "massive melee combat," "next-generation levels of destruction," and "stunning visual effects." Would you be surprised? Rumors of "Battlefield 6" are spreading fast in anticipation of the game's release this season. Recently, the official "Battlefield" Twitter account posted a tweet listing the game's features, which has been met with a resounding response.

The tweet, by Roberto Serrano (aka @geronimo_73), listed a modern warfare setting, 16 vs. 128 multiplayer matches, soldier, weapon, and vehicle customization, and a "Fall 2021" release date. The tweet also mentions a battle royale component, which will reportedly be released in early 2022 as a free-to-play title.

None of this is particularly surprising, and most of it is what one would expect from a new Battlefield title. The free-to-play battle royale is somewhat surprising, and the modern warfare setting is not confirmed. But apart from that, it's business as usual, right?

The official response from Battlefield seems to agree, but it is up to interpretation.

Another rumor circulating on reddit, though not officially answered, is that Battlefield 6 will host "many if not all" of the old Battlefield games with a hub-like launcher. It would be like Hitman 3 hosting all three parts of the trilogy.

In addition, EA has reportedly surveyed some players about various features, including Battle Pass (via PCGamesN). In any case, it will likely be a little while before there is an official announcement. For now, spaghetti.
