World Of Warcraft's Northrend converted to Valheim.

General
World Of Warcraft's Northrend converted to Valheim.

World Of Warcraft's frozen continent of Northrend has been recreated in Valheim.

Published on Nexus mods and discovered by PCGamesN, the Drakonman The Fox modder has extensively remapped the landscape of Northrend to Valheim. This is fitting in a way. In "Rrath Of The Lich King," the Vrykul, a Norse tribe of giant vampires, appeared in canon. If one wishes, one can pretend to have laid down their roots for the first time.

While major landmarks like dungeons and buildings have not been jumped (no Icecrown Citadel, unfortunately), the biome is mapped fairly accurately on the Northrend heightmap. The continent of Valheim cannot be created by hand as in the Warcraft expansion, given that the terrain is procedural. However, we can see that the peaks, valleys, and lakes are placed where they should be.

Starting with Howling Fjord, Drakonman has also made adjustments to reflect the difficulty curve of the WoW expansion: places like Burial Chambers and Sunken Crypts spawn well outside their original biomes, and Icecrown help them progress deeper into the northern reaches of the city.

From the Eiffel Tower to a completely cursed tank engine, there is no shortage of impressive Valheim builds. However, we don't often see creators altering the shape of the terrain itself. Perhaps some builders will combine the two and construct a wooden undead citadel on top of Warcraft's continent.

To get Drakonman's Northrend going, you need to download Better Continents. You can then remake the continent as you wish. Now, show the amateur arsus what an empire really looks like.
