Call of Duty: Warzone's next monster update will be 81 GB smaller if "Modern Warfare" is removed.

Call of Duty: Warzone fans won't have much to get excited about in tomorrow's midseason update, as Black Ops - Cold War adds a new map and mode, while Warzone fans will get a sniper rifle and several new operators will be added. But that doesn't mean your hard drive is safe: If you also have Modern Warfare installed, tomorrow's Warzone patch will be a whopping 133 GB download. If you also have Modern Warfare installed, tomorrow's Warzone patch will be a whopping 133GB download.

Here are the download sizes from today's blog post: [Due to the overall size reduction of Warzone and Modern Warfare, this download is larger. Every little dust up is a big dust up, and Warzone and Modern Warfare will shrink by 11.8 GB and 30 GB, respectively. While more free space is a good thing, players should seriously consider whether it's worth continuing to update Modern Warfare if they haven't played it much recently (especially if their ISPs have strict data caps). If you uninstall a chunk of Modern Warfare before the patch is delivered tomorrow night at 11pm PDT, you can cut your download in half.

That said, it's tough to swallow 52 GB for an update that adds nothing of note to Warzone. Activision's updated Season 2 roadmap has only one column for Warzone, which basically says "more zombies". I think it's cool; the zombie presence in Warzone has been one of the most disappointing map changes since the game's launch. Verdansk has the potential for a zombie infestation, and Activision may make it happen in the future, but for now zombies are a boring distraction, moving from town to town like a flock of birds.

Hopefully, part of this download has to do with the long-rumored new Warzone map, which will likely incorporate existing locations from Cold War's Fireteam map.

ColdWar will add a new Outbreak map (Sanitorium), several new maps, a remixed mode, a new sniper rifle, and several operators that will also be available in Warzone; all this for an additional 8 GB on the PC version. will be available. Call of Duty may be small, but it's pretty big.
