Razer's new clothing line is made of 88% recycled plastic and 0% RGB

Razer now produces apparel that is made from 88% recycled ocean plastic. The clothing line is also an effort to raise awareness of the more than 8 million tons of plastic that wash up in the ocean each year, contributing to climate change and threatening food supplies as plastic is swallowed by marine life This is not the first time Razer has tackled environmental issues: in October In September, Razer partnered with Conservation International to protect some of the world's forests by selling adorable Sneki Snek plush toys.

Razer has pledged to fund the collection of 1 kg of ocean plastic for every piece of clothing sold. Each of the five clothing items is limited to 1,337 pieces, and if sold out, Razer will help remove more than 2,200 kg of plastic from the ocean.

The design is based on the famous Japanese painting "The Great Wave," which depicts plastic debris in the water to emphasize the point. The collection includes a zip-up hoodie ($149.99), t-shirt ($89.99), tank top ($69.99), shorts ($79.99), and cap ($49.99). With a limited lineup, it is no surprise that clothing prices are high.

We like to joke about Razer's unusual non-gaming products, but marketing stunt or not, it seems the Singaporean company is trying to keep the planet clean. Earlier this week, the company announced that it will sell reusable straws for $20 as part of its "Go Green with Razer" 10-year sustainability program. Since there are always billions of straws in the ocean, turning to reusable straws is a good idea for everyone.

The Razer Kanagawa Wave apparel line goes on sale April 7 and comes in sizes S through XXXL; Razer is not taking pre-orders, but if you register (at the bottom of the page), they will email you when they go on sale next week.
