Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" fan-favorite map quietly returns

Three new maps have been added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. But you wouldn't know that by looking at Activision's social feeds.

The publisher may be concentrating on its latest and ongoing Call Of Duty titles, "Black Ops - Cold War" and "Warzone." However, mid-season updates for these games brought back the original "Modern Warfare" "Killhouse" and added its own "Killhouse 24/7" playlist to the 2019 games' multiplayer.

The update also introduced Al-Raab Airbase, a 6v6 map, and Drainage, a Gunfight arena, but both appear to be available only in private matches for the time being.

Notably, neither Activision nor Infinity Ward have said a word about these additions. No announcement, no notice, not even a patch note; the sixth season of Modern Warfare ended last December, and since then Activision seems to have completely ghosted the game, even replacing the Battle.net client spot with Warzone. While elements of ModernWarfare may remain in Warzone, Jeremy Peel believes that the battle royale format wastes the game's appeal.

These new maps are welcome additions, of course, but the return of one of Modern Warfare's most iconic maps would be a big deal for the game. Can you give us a heads up next time?

Thanks, Eurogamer.
