Summer Games Done Quick organizers have confirmed that there will be another week of speedrunning this July; the SGDQ will be entirely online again this year.

Last year, during the Covid-19 pandemic, this celebration of fast games abandoned the usual crowds and couch commentators and went online. With the pandemic still looming, organizers announced this week that this year's show will also go completely digital, streaming from July 4-11.

Going online did not devastate SGDQ's fundraising efforts last year. Although the show did not break the previous year's record, it still raised a healthy $2.3 million for the conflict relief charity Doctors Without Borders. This January's "Awesome Games Done Quick," in which Celeste's C-Sides beat the dance pad in 20 minutes, similarly raised $2.75 for the Cancer Prevention Fund.

SGDQ is currently accepting run submissions through the end of the day.
