Composer of "Death Stranding" and "Metal Gear" Leaves Kojima Productions

Composer Ludvig Forssell has announced that he is leaving his position as audio director at Kojima Productions. [2020 Forssell, who composed the soundtracks for GOTY's "Death Stranding," "Metal Gear Solid V," and "PT" (R.I.P.), tweeted that he is leaving the studio where he worked with director Hideo Kojima for 10 years to pursue freelance work.

"After 10 years working in-house at Kojima Productions as a composer/audio director, I am happy to announce that I will be pursuing a future as a freelance composer. It's been a lot of fun."

"Thanks, KJP! Thanks, KJP! Now I'm happy to be working on a variety of projects in all types of media."

However, this does not mean that Forsell will never again compose for Kojima's games, as the studio's Twitter account states " We look forward to continuing to work with you," to which Forsell replied, "Of course!"

, to which Forssell replied, "...we are looking forward to working with you again. The news was not what many had expected, as Forsell had tweeted the day before that he had "important news"

. Gaming Twitter was convinced that either "Death Stranding" was coming to Xbox or that Kojima Productions had been bought out, which caused a bit of a stir. Spoiler alert: it's neither.
