The cars in the next "Rocket League" game, "Rocket Pass," are cool, but the rest of the game is just okay.

I wasn't interested in the R3mix body for Rocket League's Season 2 Rocket Pass, so I skipped the premium truck and used the money from Epic's class action settlement to buy an annoying goal explosion that blasted everyone with missiles. (Or worse, I could have bought a Ford F-150.)

But I think I can resist the premium trucks in the upcoming Season 3 Rocket Pass. I really like the new body with the Dominus hitbox, the Tyranno. I especially like the silly variations and decals on the Tyranno that Psyonix is showing off on the Season 3 Rocket Pass page, which look like they were designed by the Dark Lord of Chromatic Aberration to hurt our eyes.

This is a variation of the Tyranno that appears to have Huntress decals and new wheels.

The only thing I don't particularly like about the Tyrano is the logo on the grille, which is hidden by the cowl-like hood in most screenshots. When it is visible, it is a glowing "T" similar to the Tesla logo, but it doesn't look right on something that runs on rocket fuel. That quibble aside, this is a good-looking sham ride, and I'm going to spend some real money on it to be ridiculously honest.

For Season 3, Psyonix has not uploaded individual images of each premium Rocket Pass tier reward, instead grouping screenshots of 10 tiers at a time; other than Tyranno, there are no standouts, and the only other tier that I've seen is the Rocket Pass tier, which is a very nice grouping of screenshots of the 10 tiers. The theme is racing (NASCAR and F1 bundles are coming in May), so we see checkered flag rocket boosts and boosts that eject orange cones from cars ("little object poop" boosts are my least favorite boosts).

There is also a checkered flag goal explosion, but it is nowhere near the Airstrike goal explosion that keeps getting blown up by missiles thanks to annoying people like me. tyranno and other season 3 rocket pass rewards can be seen in detail in the video below. As always, the premium Rocket Pass track is 1,000 credits (about $10).

Rocket League Season 3 will start on April 7. Aside from the new Rocket Pass, new challenges will be introduced and the competitive rankings will be reset as usual. If field hockey is your favorite rocket car sport too, we'll see you next week for the snow day rankings. We look forward to another season of floating in the diamond.
