New Weekend Schedule: the first notable battle royale game of 2021, and I believe the first western-themed game of the year. Wearing a cowboy hat and walking around the house yelling "Yeah!" and walk around the house yelling "Yeah!" had been the plan for the weekend for some time, so the timing really worked out well.

Grit takes a traditional approach to the battle royal: 100 cowboys enter, one cowboy exits. However, the game incorporates novel ideas such as loot (guns picked up become poker hands, giving you perks), the ability to fight on horseback, and trains. The developers are betting that the western genre is as much a part of the appeal as the battle royale format.

Keys for this weekend's beta are available on Steam. If the keys run out, there will be more beta testing between now and when Grit is released in Early Access.
