General
The Ninja Gaiden collection is a bare-bones PC port fixed at 60 fps.

Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection will launch on Steam on June 10, bringing Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3 to PC for the first time. The developer previously confirmed that the collection will run at up to 4K and 60 fps, but according to PC Gamer's interview with producer Fumihiko Yasuda, it will not offer as many rich graphics options as Team Ninja's latest PC game, Nioh 2.

I asked Yasuda if the PC port of the Master Collection would include features like 120fps support and ultra-wide resolution. Yasuda said, "The Steam version doesn't have advanced graphics options, but it will run at 1080p and 60 fps, and will automatically run at 4K and 60 fps when hardware conditions allow." Resolution and fps can fluctuate during gameplay." Of course, to play in 4K you will need a 4K TV or monitor."

For PC gamers, there is another small disappointment: according to Yasuda, the port to Steam will only work with a controller, with no keyboard or mouse support. While the majority of "Ninja Gaiden" players would prefer to play with a controller, it is odd that the 2021 PC port does not have at least a simple keyboard/mouse mapping.

I expected Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection to support an unlocked frame rate, but given the difficulty of porting three games designed for a 15-year-old console, the 60 fps limit is not surprising. What we expected to see a much lower frame rate was the amazing staircase fight in Ninja Gaiden 2. At the time of its release, there were so many enemies that the Xbox 360 ran sluggishly, but the game was later patched to run more smoothly. Unfortunately, I could not convince Yasuda to destroy the performance of "Collection" just for me.

"We are focused on fast action, so unfortunately we "fixed" the master collection in that regard. ......"

"I'm sorry," Yasuda said.

Too bad. If the modders work on the Master Collection and find a way to increase the frame rate or add ultrawide support, they might even throw in an artificial frame rate limiter to recreate Ninja Gaiden 2's best moments.
