General
If you have an Nvidia GPU, you can pause "Outriders" in single-player.

"Outriders" is the latest game to fail to pause in single-player mode, an annoyance familiar to players of "Souls"-like games, action RPGs, and basically any game-as-a-service other than "Warframe." In fact, "Outriders" can be paused when playing alone; as Redditor Aced-Bread discovered, it requires access to Nvidia's Ansel.

If you have an Nvidia GPU, you are probably familiar with GeForce Experience, the software that downloads driver updates and forget passwords. It also comes with a photo mode called Ansel, which can be entered by pressing Alt-F2 in a supported game, zooming in with the free camera, and applying post-processing filters, etc. Outriders" is one of the supported games, and when you are not in the party, you can pause and then finally go to the bathroom, answer the door, let the dog out, look out for your loved ones, and so on.

As Morgan writes, "Outriders" is the latest game to remind us how online-only single-player games suck. Frequent disconnections are a serious problem, but given that the game was designed to have no downtime or safe zones, the lack of a pause button is also infuriating; "Outriders" is pauseable enough, but the fact that you have to have a specific graphics card to pause it is like rubbing salt in the wound.
