Morrowind Rebirth" mod celebrates 10th anniversary with major update

Morrowind Rebirth began as a project intended to reinvigorate Morrowind's longtime players by changing the layout of key locations, but over time the settlement was completely reworked to make it more natural, visually consistent, and alive It now feels more natural, visually consistent, and alive. And with update 5.4, modder trancemaster_1988 celebrates a decade of continuous updates with a huge list of changes.

Sadrith Mora now has significantly more NPCs to roam around. The landscape around the caldera has been reshaped to look more realistic; Vivec now has city gates; and the interior of Balmora has been redesigned. These are just a few of the dozens of major changes, and with the tweaks and updates over the past decade, "Rebirth" is truly living up to its name.

This is a total revamp of Morrowind, a modernization that keeps the spirit of the original game intact and brings it closer to the fidelity and design we're used to these days. If you want an even more up-to-date look, weekend editor Jody says you can combine the Morrowind Graphics Extender with Better Heads and a Code Patch that fixes a few bugs.

Update 5.4 also adds new creatures, weapons, armor, potions, materials, spells, and other unique items. The Silver Saints are pretty imposing metallic soldiers (I want their costumes), and I'm in love with their new dread helm.

Lots of smaller fixes and updates are included as well. Where did people go to the bathroom then and now? At least we know what Morrowind used to smell like.

Check out the ModDB page for a complete list of changes and to try Rebirth.
