Fight in cyberpunk Half-Life 2 mod NeoTokyo Kshatriya demo

Remember NeoTokyo, the futuristic multiplayer game that started out as a mod before its standalone release on Steam in 2014? The developers of Neotokyo have since worked on some cool projects. Artist Leri "pushBAK" Greer moved to Weta Workshop, where he lent his talents to creating concepts for the live-action film "Ghost in the Shell," and composer Ed Harrison worked on the music for "Deus Ex."

The game also inspired modder SerygalaCaffeine to create a Half-life mod to celebrate NeoTokyo's gritty universe. The mod is a "crossover between Kshatriya and NeoTokyo source material" and was created with Greer's permission.

Multiple routes through this mod's crumbling, very nicely lit tower block. It's a world of neon signs and cracked old concrete, the perfect hideout for the extended criminal element. There are gunfights, of course, but the city itself is the star of the show, and it's a great way to stretch the old engine of Half-Life 2.

Kshatriya is a reference to the creators' previous work, Kshatriya: Wetwork, made on GameGuru, which features two levels, one of which is linear while the other is an open environment with multiple pathways, which is what the NeoTokyo crossover mod's Wetwork is available for free on IndieDB.

If you're waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 to be fixed and want more rainy cities and trench coats, here are some of the best cyberpunk games on PC.
