Final Fantasy 14 Director Baked Cookies, Drank Wine, and Played MMOs on Twitch for 7 Hours

As if we needed one more reason to like Naoki Yoshida, the Final Fantasy 14 director recently spent seven hours on Twitch baking cookies, drinking wine, and showing off his Lalafell Black Mage.

The stream took place a few days ago on NGC's Twitch channel, where Yoshida gave viewers a tour of Free Company's housing, then donned his character and matching artisan apron to bake cookies.

He spent an hour making coffee cookies, the recipe for which was very kindly translated by @aitaikimochi on Twitter. Yoshida's whisk was stuck with a whole chunk of butter, he made smiley faces with chocolate chips, and he drank a lot of red wine before he started baking. The wine was apparently a 2018 Napa Valley red (thanks again to @aitaikimochi!)

According to Yoshida, the wine was a perfect match for the coffee cookies.

Yoshida also played a little Final Fantasy 14 with his free company while running Unreal Titan. He closed the stream with a Q&A of sorts, ending the stream at 7 hours and 15 minutes long.

The stream is all (obviously) in Japanese, but it's entertaining enough even if you don't understand the language. Yoshida seemed to be having fun and his cookies looked very tasty. I can't imagine cookies with red wine, but there's only one way to find out. Even if it is an excuse to drink wine.
