Sea of Thieves' second season pass will be released next week.

Rare announced the arrival of the new loot pass in a short video. The video did not show much other than a very nice red ship set and some new cosmetics. More interesting, however, was a new emote that allowed one to jump into a barrel.

Not sure how useful that would be as a potential tactic to hide from fellow pirates. At this point, people have pretty much memorized the layout of the ship, and I have a feeling that rogue barrels would stand out. It might work better elsewhere, but I think there will be some eagle-eyed pirates looking for fake barrels for a while. But what about using the barrels as a prank to scare your friends? The new emotes are going to be priceless.

I've been away from "Sea of Thieves" for quite a while now, but a fresh season might make me want to come back. But a new season might make me want to come back. I wonder if I could play an instrument while hiding in a barrel.

Sea of Thieves Season 2 will be released on April 15. Rare introduced Battle Pass to this game in January, moving away from the previous monthly content updates.
